Payment
Here are the Payment Options, in order of preference to the KUBE:
- Venmo – Click this link and send Jon payment. – Requires Venmo account.
- PayPal – Click this link and send Jon payment. – Requires PayPal account.
- Square Cash – Click this link and send Jon payment
- Cash/Check – the option of last resort. Get your cash/check along with clear written instruction as to who/what entry you are paying for to Jon or Don or Mike prior to the tip of the first game on Thursday. No excuses.
These are the rules… there’s no reason to believe they’ll change, but you never know.
- $10 per entry – no limit on number of entries. CBS Sports cuts you off at 10 entries per account. This seems reasonable, but there’s no reason you couldn’t create a 2nd account if you’re feeling inspired.
-
Entries must be Completed via CBS Sports prior to tipoff of the first game played on the Thursday after Selection Sunday for the Men’s tournament and Friday after Selection Sunday for the Women’s tournament. Payment is also expected by this time.

Points are awarded for each correct pick for a given game. Points increase each round (1, 2, 4, 8, 16 & 32 pts). Points are also multiplied by the seed number of the winning team. For our purposes, the “First Round” is the Round of 64 Teams.
(For example, if Valparaiso University, a 12th seeded team, won its third round game, you would be awarded 48 points – 4 points x 12th seed = 48 total points awarded)
- There are 2 separate pots for the Men’s & Women’s pools. In the event that either pool gets an insufficient # of entries for the smallest prize to be less than $20, distribution may change. Under normal circumstances, the pot will be broken down as follow:
- 25%: Entry with most points at the End of Tournament (EOT)
- 20%: Entry with second most points at EOT
- 15%: Entry with third most points at EOT
- 10%: Entry with forth most points at EOT
- 5%: Entry with fifth most points at EOT
- 2%: Entries with sixth through tenth most points at EOT
- 5%: Long shot award – Entry with highest seeded team advancing to the “Sweet 16” – in the event of a tie, the entry with the most cumulative points at the end of the Round of 32 will win. If there is still a tie, the award will be split.
- 5% Surprize: A prize to be announced after the tip of the first game on Thursday.
- 5%: KUBE Kut: funding the emails, the website and the other unforeseen expenses required to run this dumb thing.
You can’t win two prizes with the same bracket anymore. Here’s a flow chart about how that’s resolved.
